The VDMA Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association has cancelled its participation in the German Pavilion at Plástico Brasil in São Paulo for this year in agreement with the European partner associations of EUROMAP and the organizer of the event.
Reason for this is the strong spread of the Corona pandemic in Brazil. The decision has no
influence on the participation of individual companies at the fair. The organizer had previously postponed the date for the fair by half a year and moved it to November 2021. According to the trade association’s assessment, however, from today’s perspective this date is not suitable for holding an international exhibition in a country severely affected by the Corona pandemic. Brazil is the most important South American market for the German plastics and rubber machinery industry. Many German manufacturers have local branches and are actively involved in the international community through the VDMA office in São Paulo. To strengthen the “Made in Germany” brand locally, the German Engineering Federation VDMA applied for the first official German joint participation at the Plástico Brasil in 2019. The participation at the fair in March 2019, including VDMA’s involvement in a symposium, was a complete success, which the VDMA will follow up as soon as the pandemic situation in the country allows it again.
